December 2016 Issue

Dearest Readers,

Welcome to another issue of the Green Observer Magazine!

The semester is beginning and we are truly in the midst of winter. Bundle up with a cup of tea and our first issue of the year! This month, we are continuing our “GO Abroad” segment, where members of the Green Observer share the beauties of nature they discover throughout their travels! Read on to learn more about agritourism in the midwest and how Fermilab is preserving prairies. On a more political note, this issue features post-Presidential-election thoughts and notes on environmental racism in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Touching more on the election, regardless of the direction of our country’s leadership, the Green Observer is dedicated to spreading awareness about environmental issues. We encourage you, dear reader, to keep matters important to you relevant in your conversations and daily life.

As we enter the new year, the Green Observer has undergone many internal changes. With the passion from our members and the support from the YMCA, the community, and from you, we are excited to take on the coming semester with gusto! From all of us at the Green Observer, happy New Year; we are forever grateful for your support.

Cheers,

Emily
